Prof. Dr. Vinodh Kakkassery is a leading specialist in eye tumors, ophthalmic oncology and molecular diagnostics. As chief physician of the Department of Ophthalmology at Chemnitz Hospital and head of the Eye Tumor Center, he is committed to the development of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic methods.

In the DECODE VRL study, he is responsible for clinical management and researches new molecular biological markers for faster and more precise diagnosis of vitreoretinal lymphoma (VRL).

He is a member of the Molecular Tumor Board, reviewer for numerous scientific journals and has published important scientific contributions on molecular VRL diagnostics and tumor biology.
