Short biography & role in the DECODE VRL study

PD Dr. Irina Bonzheim is a renowned molecular pathologist with a focus on hematopathology and genetic tumor analysis. She heads molecular diagnostics at the Institute of Pathology and Neuropathology, Tübingen University Hospital and is significantly involved in the molecular genetic investigation of malignant lymphoma.

In the DECODE VRL study, she coordinates molecular diagnostics for vitreoretinal lymphoma (VRL). Her laboratory specifically analyses genetic markers such as MYD88 L265P, miRNA profiles and epigenetic changes in order to develop new standardized diagnostic methods.
